Can I upgrade my PS4/Xbox One version of Planet Coaster: Console Edition to a PS5/Xbox Series X/S version?
We're happy to announce that you can indeed upgrade to the next-generation version of the game, for free! Here is a guide on how you can do this:
Digital
For digital copy owners who purchased on the PlayStation/Xbox Store, you will be able to access your upgrade by simply logging into the relevant store on your next-gen console with the same account that you used to purchase the game for the PlayStation 4/Xbox One .
Physical
For physical copy owners, you will be able to download the next-gen version on your PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X/S when it becomes available as well. To do this, you need to insert the disc into your console to be able to play. This means that you will need to have a next-gen console that can use discs.
PLEASE NOTE: You can only upgrade from a physical current gen copy to a digital next-gen copy if you have a next-gen console that you are able to insert a disc into. When you do, you will be able to download your next-gen edition, but will still require the disc to authenticate and play.
How can I claim and redeem my key for Planet Coaster or Planet Coaster DLC?
This guide is only applicable if you've purchased Planet Coaster or Planet Coaster DLC from FrontierStore.net
First, download Steam and create a Steam account. If you already have Steam installed and have a Steam account you can skip this.
Please download Steam and follow the instructions to install and register for an account: http://store.steampowered.com/about/
Once you have Steam open and you are logged in please do the following:
- Log into the Frontier Store: https://user.frontierstore.net/user/info
- Click on My Steam Entitlements in the left pane.
- Click on the 'Login with Steam' button to link to your Steam account
- Click on 'Claim' to add game directly to your Steam account
If you have bought some Planet Coaster game extras as well, then you will also see these here, be sure to claim these as well.
You can now download Planet Coaster and play it from Steam.
ACTIVATING A STEAM KEY
Once you locate your key, you will be able to activate it on your Steam account and access the game through Valve's service. For more information on how to do this please see this FAQ
