What are Squadrons?
Squadrons are in-game groups of up to 500 commanders that provide the functionality to plan and execute large-scale community gameplay, support factions and compete in seasonal Squadron Leaderboards.
How do I create or join a Squadron?
- Navigate to the Squadrons Hub in the Systems Panel on the Home tab.
- If you are not part of a Squadron you will have the option to create a new one, or browse and send an application to an existing Squadron.
- Any commander can create a Squadron as long as they have 10,000,000 credits to do so.
- Squadrons can choose if they accept applications or not.
Can I be part of multiple Squadrons?
No, all commanders can only be in one Squadron at a time.
How do I align my squadron with a minor faction?
Reach 80 or more reputation with the minor faction.
What happens if the Squadron leader leaves?
They will be given the opportunity to pass the leader position to any other member regardless of rank. If they wish to disband the Squadron in its entirety, all members must leave the Squadron or be removed.
Why is the Squadrons button greyed out? (Console)
Squadrons are affected by both your console's parental controls and privacy settings. Both of these settings must be set to default for Squadrons to be available. If a parent or guardian has applied parental controls or custom privacy controls have been set for the console, then Frontier is unable to bypass these restrictions.
What are the Squadron Leaderboards?
Squadron Leaderboards allow Squadrons to compete against each other in different categories over three-month-long seasons:
- Xeno Defence – Hand in Pilots Federation Combat Bonds earned by killing Thargoids.
- Combat – Destroy other ships.
- Exploration – Sell Exploration Data.
- Political – Maintain a large and happy faction.
- Powerplay – Gain Powerplay Merits.
- Trade – Earn a profit through Trade.
At the end of a season, all members of the top three Squadrons of each leaderboard will receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze trophy that can be displayed on their ship’s dashboard. Squadrons who earn the most medals also appear in the Hall of Fame.
