This article is intended for existing players who have purchased the game on Epic, and offers some guidance on the process of linking existing Frontier accounts to Epic Games Frontier.
PLEASE NOTE: Brand new Epic customers should be automatically linked during account creation. If you have not yet created an account, please follow the steps in this FAQ.
Copies of Elite Dangerous purchased from the Epic Game Store MUST be run through the Epic launcher, as detailed in this FAQ. DO NOT LINK YOUR FRONTIER ACCOUNT TO STEAM. This will block your game access, and will NOT add the game to Steam.
When you first start the game from the Epic Games Launcher, the Elite Dangerous launcher will pop up with this message as shown below:
If you select the LINK ACCOUNT button, you should be taken to the following screen:
If you have an existing Frontier account, please click the LINK MY EPIC ACCOUNT button at the top. You will then be directed to fill in your account details.
After this is done, If you do not get redirected, please open up the launcher again, and you should find that you are now logged in and able to click 'Play'!
