THE FOLLOWING CONTROLLERS ARE SUPPORTED BY ELITE DANGEROUS ON WINDOWS:
- Keyboard and Mouse
- Xbox 360 Controller
- Xbox One Controller
- Xbox One Elite Controller
- Steam Controller
- DUALSHOCK®4 Controller (requires official PlayStation®4 USB Wireless Adaptor)
- Most modern joysticks and HoTaS devices
The Oculus Touch controller and some head-tracking devices such as TrackIR may require some additional configuration but are supported by Elite Dangerous. Our official forums feature a dedicated VR Discussion & Support section that will help you get started.
A CONTROLLER IS SUPPORTED BUT IS STILL NOT WORKING
If your controller is listed above but does not appear to respond normally in-game then you may need to disable Steam's Generic Controller Support features.
To do so, open Steam in Big Picture mode > Click the Settings cog (top right) > Controller > Controller Settings.
There are 3 options for PS4, Xbox, and Generic Gamepad controller support. Disable these to restore default controller support in Elite Dangerous.
