Elite Dangerous: Account Management and Troubleshooting

This guide is designed to help players of Elite Dangerous with common account-related issues. Whether you need to change your registered email address, link or unlink your Frontier account, find your Epic Games ID, or troubleshoot email problems, this guide provides step-by-step instructions. Locate your issue below and click the heading to see troubleshooting steps.

1. Log in to your Frontier account at: https://user.frontierstore.net
2. Navigate to the "Account Information" section.
3. Click on the "Change Email" button.
4. Enter your new email address and confirm it.
5. Check your new email inbox for a confirmation email and follow the instructions to verify the change.

You'll now be asked to provide a verification code upon logging in to your account. The following steps outline the process:

1. Log in to your account
2. Provide the verification code that will be sent to the address registered on your account. This will come from the address: no-reply@frontierstore.net.

To link your Frontier account to the platform on which you play Elite Dangerous, follow these steps:

Linking to Steam

1. Log in to your Frontier account at: https://user.frontierstore.net/user/info
2. Once logged in, click "Link Accounts" and select "Steam".
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linking process.

Linking to Epic Games

1. Log in to your Frontier account at: https://user.frontierstore.net/user/info
2. Once logged in, click "Link Accounts" and select "Epic Games".
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linking process.

Linking to Xbox

1. Log in to your Frontier account at: https://user.frontierstore.net/user/info
2. Once logged in, click "Link Accounts" and select "Xbox".
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linking process.

Linking to PlayStation

1. Log in to your Frontier account at https://user.frontierstore.net/.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linking process.

1. Visit https://user.frontierstore.net/ and log in Frontier account credentials.
2. Navigate to the "User Information" page.
3. Scroll to the bottom-right and click the "UNLINK" button next to the Steam or Epic Games account you wish to unlink.
4. Confirm the unlinking process when prompted.

1. Open the Epic Games launcher and log in.
2. Click on your username in the bottom-left corner.
3. Select "Manage Account" from the menu.
4. Your Epic Games User ID will be displayed under "Account Info".

1. Check your Junk/Spam filters: Ensure that you have no spam/junk filters for the email addresses no-reply@zaonce.net and no-reply@elitedangerous.com.
2. Add the above email addresses to your contacts or approved-senders list.
3. Try an alternative email address: Some email providers may block our emails before you receive them. You can update the email associated with your Frontier account at any time on your Account Information page.

I've forgotten my email address.

If you're unable to recall your registered email address we'll need some additional information from you to verify that you are the account owner. Send in a support ticket using the button at the bottom of this page with as many answers as possible from the following options:

• The name of the person who owns the account.
• The name of the current Commander.
• The order number sent to you when purchasing Elite Dangerous.
• Any proof of purchase, such as an email receipt.
• Your Steam product key (only applies to Steam customers).

Once we've verified you as the account owner we will be happy to change the registered email to one of your choice.

I've forgotten my Frontier account password.

To have a new password emailed to you please click Forgot Password? on either the Launcher or the Frontier Store. Alternatively, click here. 

If you aren't receiving the reset link or are experiencing further issues, please contact us via the button at the bottom of this article. 

Elite Dangerous cannot be used with Steam Family Sharing as account sharing is against our EULA. The exception to this is if both players own their own copies of Elite Dangerous, but in this case, both players should be able to get their own Steam keys anyway so that they can play together.
